Chih-Long Yen

My research interests are centered primarily around two issues. The first is experimental existential psychology, which concerned about how human beings cope with, or defend, their fears of inevitable death. Most of my research failed to find evidence supporting the main theory of this issue (i.e., terror management theory; TMT). The second issue I concerned is methodology of empirical psychology. This was inspired by my personal experience of unable to replicate main stream theories (e.g., TMT, construal level theory). The topics I concerned include replication, flexibility when collecting and analyzing data, and the influence of sample size on research validity.
